Where it started
Summer, taken seriously
Punelia started with a small frustration: most of what gets sold as summer clothing is designed somewhere it never really gets hot. Shapes that cling. Waistbands that dig in by two in the afternoon. Pieces that photograph well and then sit in the wardrobe from December to March.
We build the opposite. Everything in the range is chosen for the way an Australian summer actually runs — long, bright, salty, and rarely formal.
If a piece only looks good standing still in air conditioning, it does not make the cut.
Our one rule
What we choose for
Four things, every time
It has to work at 35 degrees. Easy shapes, soft finishes, nothing that clings when the day heats up.
It has to earn a second wear. One-occasion pieces are expensive per wear and boring in a wardrobe.
It has to travel. Most of the range folds small, shakes out, and goes straight from a bag to a table.
It has to be honest about price. We keep pricing simple and we do not inflate a number so we can cross it out.
The season we dress for
October to February is our whole year
Spring Racing, a run of weddings, Christmas that happens outdoors, New Year by the water, and the long stretch of holidays after it. Our edits follow that calendar rather than a European one — which is why you will find race day pieces in October and holiday shapes in December instead of coats.
How we work
Small team, plain answers
We do not run a warehouse of our own. We work with makers and suppliers and ship from their floor to your door, which is what lets us keep prices where they are. It also means delivery takes a little longer than a same-city courier — usually 6 to 12 business days across Australia.
We say that plainly on every product page rather than promising next-day and apologising later.
